Hello everyone!
Spring is my absolute favorite season here in Korea because the cherry blossoms are in full bloom, the weather is perfect (not too hot and not too cold) and there are couples everywhere (jk I hate couples and they’re always everywhere in Korea).
I made this spring lookbook with my photographer friend. We woke up at 4am on a Saturday and shot at 3 different locations: National Assembly, Mapo Bridge and Yeouido Park. It was rather foggy and cold that morning but we made it work! I expected there to be more cherry blossoms but at National Assembly the trees are mainly lined on either side of the street, which made it difficult to shoot. My favorite place was the pagoda next to the pond we found in Yeouido Park. It was not something we planned but the colors worked really well with the embroidered bomber jacket and navy tennis skirt. It gave the video more of a Korean cultural vibe.
The outfits included in this video were inspired by Korean spring fashion trends. I bought many of the pieces in Garosugil here in Seoul. Floral patterns and slip dresses worn over t-shirts seem to be very in at the moment. And tennis skirts are a must-have for spring and summer for Korean girls. Of course there’s a bit of my own style mixed in. I love wide legged pants and long dresses.
I’ve been wanting to up my editing game and push my limits a little bit. And this was a fun learning experience. There are definitely things I want to do differently next time and I wish I had more time to devote to YouTube. I would love to shoot a lookbook in Jinhae or Busan next year. I find the cherry blossoms there to be the most beautiful. Now that I’m in Seoul I hope to meet a lot of other youtubers and learn from them too. Hope you enjoy the video! Which look was your favorite?
