Wondering what there is to do in South Korea? 💬
There are so many things you can do. 😲 There are concerts🎶, beaches🏝️, festivals and so much more! One very popular and famous festival is the Boryeong Mud Festival. The festival this year is the 20th annual festival. The Boryeong Mud Festival ran from July 21st to July 30th.
The Boryeong Mud Festival is probably the most popular festival among foreigners living, studying, or traveling in South Korea.
This year was my first year attending the mud festival. My trip was sponsored by the Foreign SNS Tour group. They provided transportation from Seoul and Anyang. Traffic was a bit crazy because of the regular weekend traffic and the extra traffic going to the Boryeong Mud Festival. So, if you plan to go to the festival by bus or driving, be sure to give yourself plenty of time to arrive at the location.
The Boryeong Festival hosts many famous performers! There were rappers, and kpop stars who went to the many concerts. Psy even went one day! Along with the mud festival, there are many other beach activities you can partake in! Since the mud festival is located on the beach, you have access to awesome swimming and water activities. I rode a raft pulled by a jet sky. The rafts cost 20,000 won (about 19 dollars). That was the first time I had ever done anything like that! It was terrifyingly exciting! I had a blast! At the beach there is also a zip line for ONLY 3,000 won (about 2 dollars).
While swimming in the water, there was an amazing, unexpected surprise that flew over us. There was a jets display! It was so awesome! It surprised us, because we were unaware of the air performance.
It was an early and extremely long day, but it was definitely worth it! Slept so well that night and dreamt of the amazing things I did that day! I am so glad I was able to record the events of that day so I can re-watch it anytime!
