And we are back with another brandnew episode of Mika in Korea. This time my good old friend from England joins me for eating some delicious Budaejjigae and talking about our Korean studies. We both met in a Korean language class and studied for one year together. So it was really nice to meet up again, enjoy some great Korean food and catch up a little bit.
For everybody, who doesn’t know Budaejjigae: Budae-jjigae (부대찌개) literally means “army base stew” or sausage stew is a type of jjigae (stew) and it is made with ham, sausage, spam, baked beans, kimchi and gochujang. Budae Jjigae (부대찌개) is definitely one of the most popular hot pot dishes in Korea and I was very happy I could finally eat it once again after a while 🙂 It isn’t the most healthy Korean food but it is really delicious! So if you never tried Budae Jjigae yet, you should definitely give it a try!
Besides eating Budaejjigae we also talked about our Korean languages studies and why it is it so difficult for foreigners to learn it. It is not just about the complicated grammar, different sentence structur, similar sounding letters but also about the different kind of honorofic forms in the Korean language. It is really considered on of the most difficult languages to learn worldwide! According to the Language Difficulty Ranking of the Foreign Service Institute (FSI)!
At the end of the video Stu and me tried some Korean tongue twisters (발음하기 어려운 한국어 문장) and I have to admit, we really have to study and practise more! Here are two of the Korean tongue twisters, we tried in our Budaejjigae mukbang video:
간장 공장 공장장은 장 공장장이고 된장 공장 공장장은 강 공장장이다
네가 그린 기린 그림은 못 그린 기린 그림이고 내가 그린 기린 그림은 잘 그린 기린 그림이다
It isn’t as easy at it might look like but just give it a try 🙂
As usually, I really hope you enjoyed me latest mukbang video with my British friend Stu. If you want to see more videos of me living in South Korea, enjoying Korean food and talking about cultural differences, please subscribe my channel “Mika in Korea” and also acitiviate the notification bell, so you don’t miss any new videos 🙂 I am also on Instagram, so I would really appreciate it, if you would follow me on Instagram as well! Stu doesn’t use any kind of Social Media, he is a very reasonable guy kkkk 😀 Thank you so much for watching and have a great day! cheers Mika
