Korea has so many beautiful places to visit, if you are coming here as a tourist, you might find it hard to visit them all. Therefore, if you are staying in Korea for a longer period of time, you should consider going out of the bigger cities and exploring the rural areas of this beautiful country. It can offer you much more than you can imagine.
This time we have taken a short weekend trip all the way to Chungcheongbuk-do, where we climbed the Songnisan mountain, enjoyed the beautiful, untouched nature and breathed some fresh air we could never have gotten in Seoul! While hiking, we finally felt like living. You definitely should do it at least few times a year.
After hiking, we have stayed in a lovely pension, which we have booked in advance. I think, booking a pension is much better than staying in a hotel, because you can enjoy the nature even near your accommodation. We even had some barbeque, which was later finished by the local cats (caught on camera). Why stay in the civilized world, when you can feel like the kid of nature once again? 🙂
On the next day, we dropped by the local provincial park, Mungyeong Saejae, which is widely known for being a filming location for various Korean dramas, where the action takes place in the Joseon dynasty. Back in those days, many scholars and nobleman were stopping in this area to rest, while on their way up to Seoul, so it is not just the artificial filming set, made for the business purposes, but a place, which holds a long history within its’ walls. Now, it is popular amongst visiting from all around Korea and even some tourists also take their time to go all the way up there.
This time, we have learned quite a lot about the tea drinking etiquette in Korea and even tried to wear some royal outfits!
As always, Thank you for watching and see you next time!
