I recorded so much during my time in Korea–I keep finding videos that I completely forgot I took!!

This was from when I visited 가락시장. I really just ended up here by complete coincidence, but I’m so happy I was able to see the area! It’s such a small quiet family town, with almost no foreigners there at all! Here you’ll see things that you don’t see too much in your busier areas—young couples pushing their children in strollers, lots of bicycle users, and very very clean streets! I highly recommend this area if you want to see a side of Seoul that is completely different than what areas like 홍대 (Hongdae) or 강남구 (Gangnam) showcase!!!

[More often than not, the young foreigners that visit Seoul (especially exchange students) end up limiting the kinds of places that they see. Perhaps they will go to Myeongdong, Insadong, Gangnam, Hongdae, Itaewon..; the big-name places that attract masses of tourists. For me, while I definitely visited those places, I also really put effort into seeing some less conventional destinations for tourists—like 가락시장. I really encourage this for travelers, not only for those visiting Seoul but also basically for anyplace new that you visit. Expand your experiences; you never know what you’ll end up finding!!]
