Hi guys, my name is Cari and my channel is all about taking mini adventures in Korea and beyond! I’ve lived in Seoul for about three years now and I love traveling all over the country. I mostly travel solo and want to inspire others to do the same. It seems intimidating but now I actually find traveling with others more stressful! Ha!

In this video I am visiting my favorite palace in all of Seoul, Changdeokgung. It is located just walking distance from Gyeongbok Palace, arguable the most famous palace in Seoul. What sets Changdeok Palace apart is something hidden in the back quarter of the palace grounds behind large stone walls. It is the palace’s secret garden.

The garden is absolutely massive and is breath taking all year around. In this video I went just as spring is turning into summer (even though it is only the end of April here in Seoul!) so everything was bright green! There are areas with large buildings or structures the royalty used to relax in while they enjoyed the nature surrounding them, but there are also large pieces of pure forest. If you’re visiting this palace, definitely wear good walking shoes. This garden has some serious hills!

You can only enter the garden on a guided tour, which are offered in multiple languages. I, of course, opted for the English tour of the secret garden, but since I have already been on the tour once I decided to wander on my own. Let’s take a tour of this gorgeous place together and enjoy the Seoul spring weather. Let’s go!
